Welcome

Welcome to the online home of The West Georgia Honor Flight Hub. Our hub is supported through the West Georgia Honor Flight Fund, a pass-through (non-endowed) Designated Fund of the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, Inc. The Fund was established in May 2009 by the board of directors of West Georgia Honor Flight.

West Georgia Honor Flight exists to help honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. Our goal is to fly veteran heroes from Columbus, GA, and surrounding counties to Washington, D.C. to reflect at their national memorials for a one-day free visit. Top priority is given to WWII veterans and veterans of more recent conflicts who may be terminally ill. Honor Flight will do whatever it takes to provide a meaningful, honor-filled day for our veterans. Most importantly, our senior heroes travel absolutely free.

The dates for our Spring 2010 flights have been set for Friday, April 16th and Friday, April 23rd. Each of these flights will carry approximately 85 veterans plus their guardians to Washington, D.C. Terminally ill veterans and veterans over 90 will have top priority. Our veterans do not pay a penny for any portion of their trip and are never solicited for donations and can never pay for their trip. They have given enough. Cost for guardians and flying volunteers will be $400.

Please consider making a donation to our effort to make this trip of a lifetime a reality for our well-deserving veterans.
